Right now my mind is not comprehending this. On a day when we lost one of the original Charlie’s Angels, Farrah Fawcett, we lose the most popular and arguably most talented performer of all time. I watched him grow up at the same time I did. Saw him on countless shows as a child and even as a cartoon show on Saturday mornings. I watched him do one of the best TV performances ever when he sang Billie Jean on Motown’s 25th Anniversary Show. I watched him revolutionize the long form video when he filmed Thriller then Moonwalker. I remember him in The Wiz with Diana Ross and when he dated Stephanie Mills while she starred as Dorothy in the Broadway play version. I remember his interview with his then wife Lisa Marie Presley (Elvis’ daughter) on Barbara Walters’ show. I can go on and on but I really don’t think any other artist has touched me the way Michael Jackson did. I’m sure I will do a tribute show soon.
This party went down in Irvington, New Jersey on May 29, 2009 at Club Elevations. The Friday night is run by Duron Dipp and Barry B. I want to personally thank them for allowing DeepHousePage to do our thing there. I opened the night, then Jamie 3:26 from Chicago took over. Closing out the night was Jersey’s own Jihad Muhammad. Shout out to Yorel for shooting the videos and for collecting the pertinent info from the DHP members. By the way the system at Elevation is dope. You can hear the bass thumping in the videos. Enjoy.
I do a Sunday show from 1pm-4pm EST on Essential Movements Radio. Here is the show from Sunday May 31, 2009. I will post the playlist soon. It’s in 3 parts.
